Why You Should Switch to Eco-Friendly Utensils In Your Kitchen

Our top four reasons why you need to make the swap to sustainable kitchenware

Chop, slice, roll, squeeze – our kitchen would be useless without utensils. And everyone needs a set of good quality, eco-friendly utensils that will last them a lifetime, so it’s time to shop smart and find some sustainable alternatives.

If you’re not convinced, here are four reasons why we recommend switching to sustainable kitchenware.

1. They’re made from sustainable materials

Many commercial utensils are made using plastic, which obviously isn’t great for the environment. Instead, sustainable kitchenware often uses beechwood and bamboo.

Not only does this make them strong and durable, unlike plastic utensils which can feel flimsy, but they’re also biodegradable and thus a much more eco-friendly solution.

Using eco-friendly utensils also means that your non-stick pots and pans won’t get scratched. We can’t think of a single reason why you wouldn’t want to use utensils with these sustainable materials!

2. They’re recyclable

Along with sustainable wood, many eco-friendly utensils use fully recyclable materials like stainless steel. This adds to the durability of sustainable kitchenware products.

When it’s time to throw them away and buy new ones (which won’t be any time soon FYI, as eco kitchen products are made to last), you can do so knowing that they’ll be recycled and the stainless steel doesn’t degrade as part of this process.

3. They’re better for your health

Protect yourself from plastic coatings on utensils which can contaminate your food when cooking. These can put your health at risk since plastic leaches harmful toxins when exposed to heat.

You really can’t be certain what BPAs and other dangerous chemicals are inside plastics, so why would you take the risk of using these around your food and letting the toxins enter your digestive system?

Instead, sustainable kitchenware ensures that only natural and non-harmful materials are used, keeping your body and the planet protected.

4. There’s no plastic waste

In the UK, we send over 15 million tonnes of rubbish from our homes to landfill every year – that’s absolutely horrendous! If we can minimise the amount of plastic waste polluting our planet even a tiny amount, then we’re making a difference.

Thankfully, our eco-friendly utensils are plastic-free and are therefore much better for the environment, so we highly recommend shopping responsibly by trying sustainable kitchenware.

As you can see, eco kitchen products are miles better for our bodies and the planet, so why wouldn’t you want to make the switch?
